We built the directory we always wished existed — a single, free, searchable database of every musical instrument repair shop in America.
"Every musician deserves to find a skilled repair technician in their community — without having to dig through outdated phone books, dead websites, or generic search results."
Fix My Axe exists to solve a problem that every serious musician has faced: your instrument needs repair, and you have no idea where to take it. A quick Google search turns up a handful of results, many of them outdated, closed, or irrelevant to your specific instrument. Word of mouth helps, but only if you know the right people.
We set out to build the most comprehensive, accurate, and easy-to-use directory of musical instrument repair professionals in the United States. Whether you play guitar, saxophone, violin, trumpet, piano, or any other instrument, Fix My Axe is designed to connect you with a qualified technician near you — for free, with no sign-up required.
Fix My Axe is the first national database dedicated exclusively to instrument repair. Unlike general business directories that list repair shops alongside restaurants and plumbers, every single listing on this site is a musical instrument repair professional. That focus means better search results, more relevant information, and a community of users who share your passion for music.
Our listings include independent luthiers working out of small workshops, full-service music stores with repair departments, band instrument specialists, orchestral string technicians, and everything in between. We cover all 50 states plus Washington D.C., with new listings added regularly.
Fix My Axe is a free, open directory. Listings are researched and added by our team from publicly available sources, and any musician or shop owner can submit a new listing or suggest corrections through our site. We do not charge musicians to search or view listings.
Shop owners and repair technicians can claim their listing for $9.99 per month to unlock enhanced features, including a Verified badge, the ability to respond to customer reviews, add photos and business hours, and priority placement in search results. Claiming a listing helps musicians find accurate, up-to-date information about your shop.
If your shop is not yet listed, you can submit it for free using the "Add a Shop" link on our homepage. Listings are reviewed and typically appear within a few business days. We welcome independent luthiers, repair technicians, and music stores of all sizes.
If your shop is already listed and you want to take control of your listing — add photos, update your hours, respond to reviews, and display a Verified badge — you can claim your listing for $9.99 per month. Visit your shop's page and click "Claim This Listing" to get started.
